SHPD Taking Applications For Citizens Police Academy

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD is currently taking applications for the 2023 session of the Citizens Police Academy (CPA). The CPA is an excellent opportunity to learn about your local police department and what goes on behind the scenes. The academy will cover topics such as the use of force, patrol operations, traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, firearms training, and more.

The CPA is open to all individuals 21 years of age or older and reside or work within the municipal city limits of Spring Hill. Persons may apply outside of the municipal city limits; however, precedence will be given to those within the municipal city limits.

SHPD Promotes Motorcycle Safety Awareness

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD will be partnering with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office to promote Motorcycle Safety Awareness. With warmer weather coming, there will be more motorcycles sharing the road. Please remember to look twice to avoid a crash.

Here are a few safe driving tips to prevent crashing with a motorcycle:

  • Though a motorcycle is a small vehicle, its operator still has all the rights of the road as any other motorist. Allow the motorcycle the full width of a lane at all times.
  • Always signal when changing lanes or merging with traffic.
  • If you see a motorcycle with a signal on, be careful. Motorcycle signals are often non-canceling. Always ensure that the motorcycle is turning before proceeding.
  • Check all mirrors and blind spots for motorcycles before changing lanes or merging with traffic, especially at intersections.
  • Always allow ample follow distance – three to four seconds – when driving behind a motorcycle. This gives riders more time to maneuver or stop in an emergency.

Spring Hill Man Arrested For Crimes Against Children

Spring Hill, TN – On April 13th SHPD detectives arrested Spring Hill resident Daniel Diemert, 47 years old, after a months-long investigation stemming from alleged incidents in the spring/summer of 2022. Diemert was charged with multiple counts of the following offenses: contributing to the delinquency of a minor, casual exchange of narcotics to a minor (Schedule II, IV), distribution of tobacco or vapor products to a minor, aggravated unlawful photography of a minor, invasion of privacy, aggravated sexual battery, solicitation of a minor to commit: aggravated statutory rape/aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor, and sexual battery by an authority figure. His bond was set at $200,000 by a judge.

All persons enjoy the presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.

Cash Stolen From Victim’s Vehicle After Suspect Followed Victim From Bank

Spring Hill, TN- On March 29th the SUV pictured above followed the victim’s vehicle from a bank in another city to a parking lot on Port Royal Rd. The SUV parked next to the victim’s car and a subject smashed the window to gain access to an envelope filled with cash. Skid Steer Stolen From Beechcroft Road Construction Site

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD is investigating the theft of a skid steer from a construction site on Beechcroft Rd. and Nickle Ln. The piece of equipment was last seen on March 13th at 3 PM. It was reported missing on March 14th at 8 AM. Investigators believe it was loaded onto a vehicle/trailer between the above time frame. SHPD Investigating Person Who Has Stolen From Several Middle Tennessee Lowes Stores Since October of 2022

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD is investigating the person in the above pictures who has allegedly stolen from several middle Tennessee Lowes stores. This person was at the Spring Hill store in February where they stole a Dewalt item. The unidentified person produced a fake receipt that they showed to the store employee. Walmart Shoplifter Allegedly Stole $3500 Worth of Merchandise

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD is investigating alleged shoplifting on February 5th at Walmart. The above person loaded a shopping cart full of tools and left the store. The tools are valued at $3500. The person has neck tattoos. The person left in a Hyundai Sonata with a license plate stolen out of Davidson County. If you can identify this person, please get in touch with Det. SHPD Investigating Theft From Parking Lot Of Business

Spring Hill, TN- The SHPD requests the public’s assistance in identifying the above individual. In the early morning of January 21st, two metal racks were stolen from behind a business at 4922 Port Royal Rd. The vehicle used to take the items is a Ford F-150 (pictured above). Victim’s Purse Was Stolen; Credit Card Was Used At Kroger In Spring Hill

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD requests the public’s assistance identifying the person in the above photographs. On December 18th, 2022, the victim reported that her purse was stolen at Kroger (4900 Port Royal Road). The person pictured above attempted to use the victim’s credit card to make a $500 purchase at the store. Vehicle Burglary at Jerry Erwin Park

Spring Hill, TN – The SHPD requests the public’s assistance in identifying the persons in the above pictures. On January 21st, the victim’s vehicle was entered while they were at Jerry Erwin Park (3410 Kedron Road). The victim’s credit card was used at Kroger on Port Royal Road for about $2,000 worth of purchases. The subjects left in a silver-colored SUV. The license plate and make/model are not known.
